Indoor lighting design   

In this course you will learn indoor lighting design, outdoor lighting design, street lighting design, stadium lighting design, emergency lighting design. In this tutorial we will use DIALUX 4.13 software, you can use any version of DIALUX 4.1X software. In indoor lighting design, we will make lighting design of rectangular room, polygonal room or any other type of room like U etc.

Outdoor lighting design

In outdoor lighting design, we will make street lighting design, stadium lighting design. We also import the CAD drawing into DIALUX and do the lighting design of rectangular room, polygonal room, corridor lighting, etc. How to add IES file in DIALUX and How to install Philips Lighting Plugin in DIALUX. How to generate a report in DIALUX to check if our lighting design meets the IES standard or not.

DIALUX software

A workshop on DIALUX student version was organized by the IEEE Student Branch of University of Ruvuma on January 3, 2020 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruvuma. The workshop was requested by the students because the software is the leading lighting design software. The software includes the ability to calculate and visualize light for a specific structure and is used worldwide for lighting planning.

Electrical engineering

About 70 undergraduates from both disciplines participated in the workshop; Electrical engineering and construction. The student branch conducted multiple workshops on trending software in modern technologies under the guidance of industry experts. Feedback from participants and lecturers from previous workshops was useful for the workshop.
